The Middle Dee Project, founded in 1997, is dedicated to the regeneration of sustainable
salmon runs into the Aberdeenshire River Dee. Membership is drawn from estate
owners, ghillies, anglers and others with an interest in increasing the natural migration of
salmon into the river. This project is financed by its membership, estates, grants from official
bodies, donations and fund raising activities. It benefits from a huge amount of voluntary
effort and expertise. The co-operation of The Dee District Salmon Fisheries Board, the River
Dee Trust, estate owners, farmers and other organisations with similar objectives, has been
a significant factor in the development of the project.
